6 Weeks and Counting....

Jason and I are truly in countdown mode now! We feel so ready, I am sure there are many things that we aren't ready for too!!! haha. In fact, I still do need to pack the hospital bag, but that is on the to-do list for next week ;)

I am still feeling great, although my belly is getting much bigger! I am also still sleeping great, which I am grateful for. We will wait and see how long it lasts. My doctor's visits are going well-everything is on track. A couple weeks ago Carson was "measuring small" so we got an extra ultrasound to check for size and dates etc. and everything looked perfect-amazing how much bigger she is! They estimated 5 Lbs at that time and possibly a 8 lb baby is full term! She was measuring small at the doctor visit because she has already dropped down into my pelvis. Which is good news for me-I hope- because she is also head down and facing in the right direction-so now I have told her to stay put! haha- We will see if she listens and cross our fingers for no C-Section!

The nursery is in it's final stages-we are still searching for a few last things for the walls. Pictures to follow once we hang everything.

Jason and I have our birth class tomorrow night-I can't wait to see his expressions with everything-although I think he is pretty up to date on things that happen during labor thanks to me and my schooling :)

We have also FINISHED our Christmas shopping- Finally! I had very high hopes of finishing it early-that didn't happen. But we are finished and now just have to get to wrapping everything. We did decorate the house this year-but it is scaled back alot from last year. We have just been very busy and I have a feeling I may not be much help after New Year's to take everything down. But we do have a real Christmas tree! And of course, I couldn't resist buying a few gifts for Carson :) Even though she won't be here in person!

Otherwise, I think that about does it for updates on "Our Life with Baby on the Way!!"

32 Weeks Belly update!

Happy Holidays to everyone! AND safe travels!:)

Long time, No Update....

29 Weeks (above)

So...We are officially in the countDOWN to baby! 9 weeks to go(give or take depending on baby)! I am continuing to feel great---which makes me a teensy bit nervous about labor---the easiness of pregnancy has to end sometime right??? :) I have started having OB appointments every other week and so far everything is going well-baby is growing right on track, measuring just right every time!

30 Weeks and Counting...

The nursery is still a work in progress---but we have painted, assembled the crib, have the changing table/dresser, and the rocker/glider in place! Next step...tackling the walls-Nursery photos below! :)

I also was blessed to have GREAT family and friends to host baby showers for me and Baby Carson. They were SO much fun and made me feel very special! :) I am blessed for sure. My sister and good friend Meghan hosted a wonderful baby shower in early November and some of my friends hosted a shower for me as well. My sister made the best diaper cake I have ever seen!!! It was adorable and even had onesies rolled into it as well-So cute that I don't want to take it apart-see pic below-

---Best Diaper Cake EVER!!!---

Shower with Friends before Tailgating :)

We have also enjoyed tailgating at the last home Wolfpack game of the season. Alot of my friends were in town for the baby shower, so it was a really fun day at Carter Finley. And we won, which makes it that much better!

Jason and I at the Wake Forest Game-

Now we are preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday and heading to the beach! Can't wait!

Nursery Update Part One...AND our baby has a name!

As baby continues to grow, our "to do list" does too!

22 Weeks

We have officially finished painting the nursery and also have the crib and changing table set up too! It is starting to feel real :) And, having the nursery somewhat put together makes it seem like the countdown to baby is so very soon. We cannot explain how excited we are!

We have also decided on our baby girl's name too!!! We have chosen to carry on a family name. Her name will be Carson. Carson is my grandfather's middle name, my uncle's name, and I also have a girl and boy cousin named Carson. The family is also very excited to have another Carson. As for the middle name, we have decided to use the name Elizabeth-this is named after my Aunt Beth. So her full name will be--Carson Elizabeth Gossett!

25 Weeks

I think that may be all the updates we have for baby news. In other news, we have enjoyed making it to as many home NC State football games as possible. We love tailgating and cheering on the PACK---this weekend was NOT the best for football that is for sure! We are leaving soon for a week long trip to Boston and Jason and I could not be more excited. I have been using my vacation time sparingly in hopes of saving as many days as possible for maternity leave and to think of having a whole week off is awesome! I will certainly post pics when we return of the nursery. Stay tuned....

Our Growing Baby Girl!

Just thought I would update and say I am officially feeling pregnant.

There is now no question of whether I am pregnant or not to strangers---everyone is asking when I am due, girl vs boy, etc. AND I love it! This is such an exciting time in my life. I can't wait for all that the future holds for me and Jason. :)

And, another thing that has been happening is that everyone has started rubbing my belly-hehe-which, by the way, is something that does not bother me one bit. I know alot of people are always afraid to ask to touch pregnant womens bellies, but I just think alot of them are curious and for alot of my friends they haven't ever been pregnant and really just want to know what it feels like-so rub away! :)

Update...It's been a little while!

So yes, we are now usede to the idea that we are having a little GIRL and we are soooo excited. This past week Jason started painting the nursery-I will certainly post pics when the room is complete! So far things look great. Also this weekend we are going to start the baby registry! We have decided to register at a newer store- Buy, Buy, Baby-owned by Bed, Bath and Beyond- and also at Babies R Us. But only one place in a weekend=haha! Wish us luck!

We have past the halfway mark-yay! And my belly is certainly starting to show it! (Pictures below)It is so exciting seeing through Facebook some pictures and the countdown for some of my friends from college as they are awaiting and anticipating the arrival of their babies and I just love sitting and thinking about what it will be like come January as I am in their shoes---right now it seems somewhat scary-yes this baby has to make it's way out somehow and that is a scary thing! I also keep thinking about how blessed we are to be going through this process-it is truly a blessing. :)

In other news, NC State football season is back!!! We love going to the games, tailgating and catching up with all of our friends. Hopefully we will be able to make it to most-if not all-home games.

Now for updated pics---
Approximately 20 weeks- HALFWAY

It's a GIRL!!!!

I am totally SHOCKED! So here is how it went yesterday....

We were going for our scheduled ultrasound, (I decided to drink a little sweet tea on the way there to "wake up" the baby since I have "given ip" caffeine while being prego). We then sat in the waiting room for about 15 minutes and all Jason and I could do was talk about how anxious we were and continue to make guesses and then discuss how we really hoped the baby was going to cooperate!---Now skip to 15 minutes into the ultrasound and all the sonographer can say is that, "if there is one position that a baby can be in to not show the gender, it's this one!" So the caffeine didn't do the trick! And although SHE was moving ALOT-BUT SHE was also being very ladylike and kept her legs crossed the entire time!!! But with a little prodding and a few position changes we got the view we needed! SO----yep, IT'S A GIRL!!! And we couldnt be more excited-or shocked for that matter!!! I was 95% convinced it was a boy, so I'm not really sure that the whole girl thing has sunk in yet but, my mom, sister, and I are going shopping this weekend so that should help! :)

As for my pregnancy, it continues to go by very smoothly, I am so thankful for that. I am starting to really have a belly! (Pictures to come very soon) And, I am still feeling great. I am starting to get a little nervous that the next 5 months are going to FLY by. Jason and I have not started to do anything to prepare, but I am sure everything will work out just fine. No worries! (Atleast not yet hehe)

And, I promise to post pictures SOON!

Pink or Blue???

WELL, we are getting SUPER excited about finding out the sex of our little miracle! We are scheduled to try and find out on Tuesday August 17th, that is, if Peanut cooperates. Jason and I have differing opinions of what we think the baby may be-his guess is girl and mine is boy- We shall see! But, I do know that we will be thrilled no matter what!!!

The baby sure is growing and it seems my pants are shrinking, haha :) I have started to gain weight and my belly is definitely popping out these days. But, I can't complain because it is what I have been waiting on for the past 4 months. The only thing I will complain about is this inbetween stage, I feel like my pants are starting to be too small, even with a Bella band, and I don't think I am quite "big" enough for maternity pants-I think this weekend I may venture out and try some on....wish me luck.

As for other news, I am really excited about my friend Lindsey visiting from San Francisco! She will be here this weekend and I can't wait for girls night! Jason and his friend, Brad, have been brewing beer for the first time lately and it should be ready to taste in the next couple weeks-none for me though :) My mom, sister, and I have a girls sleepover planned for next weekend and we are going to go baby shopping for the first time! I really can't wait-especially with the hopes of knowing the gender! So everyone cross your fingers and hope we don't have too shy of a baby on our hands. ;) I will definitely post another update soon---

Bring on the SECOND trimester...

My first signs of a "Baby Bump"

I am getting more and more excited about becoming a mom. I truly cannot wait!!!

I am now almost 14 weeks pregnant and I continue to feel great. Jason and I have started to do a little bit more planning and are still throwing out ideas for the nursery colors, what we need to buy, etc. It is such a fun time in our lives and I am so glad I have such a great husband to share it with. We had an ultrasound last week and the baby continues to grow just as expected. The heartbeat looked great and the baby looks very healthy thus far.

Jason and I have decided, after much discussion, that we are going to find out if it is a boy or a girl. We have the appointment scheduled for August 17th and are counting down the days. We have no idea what it is!!! Any guesses???

What is the most exciting thing is to see how excited our family and friends are for us. We are certainly blessed to have everyone around us. And we are very open to any suggestions on raising a child. :)

Finally!

This has been a wonderful week, we have FINALLY been able to share our great news with friends and family! It makes everything seem so real and makes us get more and more excited about baby Gossett-now 10 weeks and 1 day!

So, as for symptoms, I am doing great! I feel completely normal-just a little sleepy at night and still not eating as big of portions as I use to because I get SO full. But no worries- I am sure the appetite will return soon. And I am pleasantly surprised that I still have not gained any weight-but as Jason keeps telling me-it will come! haha!

Almost 2 weeks ago we had our initial OB visit that took about an hour and a half and Jason and I really enjoyed it. We both got to see how much the baby has grown-it now has arms and legs and it's little heart was just beating away! SO AMAZING!!!

So, all in all a great week! And all I can ask is for a happy, healthy baby in about 7 months! :)

Still growing...

So, it has been a rough couple of weeks. BUT- the good news is I am almost 8 weeks pregnant and I got to see the baby and its heartbeat a few weeks early (due to some minor complications that have resolved)!!! The bad news is, I still can't or haven't really been able to share to BIG news with others. In due time, right?

But either way, the baby is growing and it is awesome! I cannot believe--"peanut" as I like to call it or "tater" as Jason likes to call it--has a heart beat already. We saw the ultrasound at 6 weeks and 4 days and it was already beating away at 125 beats per minute! God truly knows what He is doing. :) we are so excited! And more than that- I am kinda nervous at times too. But as far as I know that is very normal.

As for pregnancy symptoms, I would say I have been pretty lucky thus far. I feel very full alot of times after I eat, I get queasy for a short period in the morning and a short period in the evening, and I am very sleepy! NO gagging or throwing up at all, so that is a good thing. And, NO weight gain---YET! :) I am still eager for the day that I have normal amounts of energy and don't feel so run down! And I cannot wait to tell all of my friends and family! One more month to go---and then I am sure there will be many more things to count down to! January 22nd being the main one :)

Growing...I hope?!?

So, now 5 weeks pregnant! WOW-it is really true. Jason and I are so excited and amazed with what the body can do-it is amazing!

I have really been feeling great, other than a few reminders that my belly is trying to stretch out. No nausea---yet. I hope I don't jinx myself. :) I really think one of the toughest things is very early on in pregnancy. You have nothing to show for for being pregnant. I mean your body hasn't changed at all to the naked eye. All you get is a positive pregnancy test--for me I have about 10 :) Which brings on another point-I have kept all of them and I am not sure what I expect to do with them?!? I don't think I am going to put a stick that I peed on in the baby scrapbook. But anyway, my point is that this early on in pregnancy it is tough. I know I am pregnant and I just hope that God is working His magic and helping the "peanut" grow in every way it needs to, because at this point all of my faith is in Him. And I am sure I will regret this later on-but I am ready for a baby bump to show up! But as Jason keeps telling me-"be patient!" What would I do without him???

Secrets are tough!

Jason and I are preggers! And, I can't tell anyone!!! I never thought it would be so hard. I do enjoy the big secret that only Jason and I share-but can't wait to tell my family and friends too!

So yes, we are pregnant, I guess not technically confirmed except by about 10 home pregnancy tests :) I thought the OB would want me to come in for a confirmatory blood test, but nope. Apparently, as a pregnant patient you aren't very important until you make it to about 8 weeks!!! That's a looooong time to sit on that big of a secret. So the appointment has been made, and if all goes well we will see our baby for the first time on June 17th, 2010. Crazy!!

I really wanted to create this blog for friends and family to be able to stay connected and share in our journey with us. So we hope you enjoy!
